A Maitland man accused of viciously assaulting and kidnapping a woman is due to face Maitland court today (Monday 26 June, 2023).
In March, Police commenced an investigation into the alleged assault of a woman by a man known to her at Upper Allyn.
On June 2, the woman presented at hospital with serious injuries requiring surgery.
It's alleged a 37-year-old man was involved in a pursuit the following day which was terminated for safety reasons.
Then on Friday, an off-duty officer spotted an allegedly stolen Landcruiser at East Maitland and the vehicle followed to Metford.
It's alleged two Police vehicles were rammed and two officers injured in a dramatic arrest of the wanted man.
He's been charged with 23 offences.
