Minister for Disability Inclusion and Port Stephens MP, Kate Washington is reviving hopes the Stockton Centre could be used for crisis accommodation.
She's being joined by Newcastle MP, Tim Crackanthorp for an inspection of the former residential disability facility on Friday, which has been closed since 2020.
The previous Coalition government poured cold water on a proposal to use the centre to ease the homelessness crisis, saying it was no longer fit for purpose.
Kate Washington will also inspect Tomaree Lodge on Friday afternoon.
