The fire brigade is urging Hunter residents to clean lint filters in clothes dryers regularly following a house fire at Cardiff Heights early Wednesday morning.
Crews from Cardiff and Wallsend were called to a home on Daintree Close just before 3.00am where a fire had broken out in the laundry, filling the house with smoke.
The blaze was confined to the laundry and firefighters spent an hour mopping up the fire and ventilating the house.
No-one was injured during the incident.
