A 3-year-old girl is recovering in the John Hunter Hospital after being attacked by a kangaroo overnight.
The Hunter's Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to a property on the outskirts of Armidale at about 6.00pm on Thursday.
The toddler was on the back porch of her home when a kangaroo got up on the deck and attacked her.
She suffered deep lacerations and was treated by the Critical Care Medical team before being airlifted with her mother to Newcastle in a stable condition.
