A major arrest this morning as a man wanted over a string of alleged break and enters struggled violently with police at Islington.
Patrolling police spotted the man in his 40's in Anderton Street at about 4.30am on Wednesday.
He ran off as soon as he saw the officers who pursued him on foot and called for back up.
They caught up with him in nearby Power Street, with residents woken by the commotion.
Police say the man assaulted officers before he was taken into custody.
It's alleged the man was in possession of house breaking implements.
