Newcastle Council is launching a new $500,000 events program for May, in hopes to get people back into the CBD.
The Autumn Alive program includes outdoor cinemas, street parties, and pop-up bars throughout the city centre.
It's hoped the events will encourage people to spend at local businesses when they're in town.
It's being funded by a State Government CBD revitalisation program.
