Two Teens To Front Court Over Attempted Car Jacking At Speers Point

Two boys aged 15 and 16 are due to front Children's Court later this month accused of an attempted car jacking at Speers Point.

A young family of four were in their car at Speers Point Park on Saturday when they were approached by two males armed with knives - it's alleged the pair tried to drag the parents in their 30's through the driver's side and passenger windows of the car.

The man and woman bravely fought off the attackers who fled with the car keys.

Following inquiries, a 16-year-old boy was arrested Toronto Police Station - he's been charged with aggravated robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon

A second teen was arrested after a search of his home in Park Road, Speers Point yesterday.

During the search, police found, and seized:

- Two knives;

- Balaclavas;

- Clothes and;

- A backpack.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station where he was charged with aggravated robbery armed with an offensive weapon.

Both boys will appear before a Children’s Court on Monday 25 September 2017.
