Buyers Weigh Up Class Action Over Failed Newcastle Residential Development

BY IAN CROUCH

Buyers caught up in a failed property development which would've seen one of the tallest buildings constructed in Newcastle are considering a class action to get their money back.

Fairfax reports some people who purchased units at the Icon Central development are weighing up whether to take legal action against the Jemalong Property Group after they were promised a refund of their deposit which hasn't been paid.

The 18-storey project was scrapped in July due to a cost blow-out, believed to be a s much as $10-million.
