On person has died in a single-vehicle crash at Cameron Park.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes of the M1 Pacific Motorway at about 6.00m on Monday, just north of the Hunter Expressway.
Police say emergency services arrived to find a car had crashed into a tree.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 47-year-old man, died at the scene.
There are extensive delays in both directions and the Highway Patrol has closed the northbound lanes of the motorway with diversions in place.
Police say the northbound lanes are likely to remain closed for some hours while investigators examine the scene.
