Police have arrested two people following an alleged high speed pursuit through Nelson Bay overnight.
Police say a Jeep Grand Cherokee was seen leaving a known drug house in the area just after 10.00pm on Thursday, with a pursuit initiated when the driver failed to stop.
It's alleged the vehicle reached speeds of 120km/hr in a 50km/h zone before police terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.
The Jeep was found abandoned a short time later in Moorooba Crescent, with a Police Dog tracking down a 29-year-old man who was driving the vehicle and his 30-year-old female passenger.
The man's been refused bail to face Raymond Terrace Court today charged with several offences including police pursuit, not stop and disqualified driving.
It's expected the woman will be granted bail to face court at a later date on unrelated matters.
