Strike Force detectives have arrested a man at a Wallsend service station following an investigation into alleged child grooming offences.
It's alleged the 64-year-old Wallsend man was using a social media platform to procure young boys for sex.
Inquiries led detectives to a local service station where the man was arrested at about 9am on Thursday.
He's faced Newcastle Local Court accused of using a carriage service to procure a child under the age of 16 for sexual activity and refused bail to face court again on August 30.
Police have seized electronic devices from a Wallsend home as inquiries continue.
