Property Council outlines Hunter wishlist ahead of State election

BY DAKOTA TAIT

The Property Council of Australia has outlined its wishlist for the Hunter, when it comes to what the next State Government will offer the region.

The industry group wants to see the major parties commit to the region before the March election, such as working with the Commonwealth to establish an infrastructure fund to expand the housing supply, as well as extending the Newcastle mine grouting fund to more regions.

Hunter Regional Director Anita Hugo says they would like to see firm investment in projects such as the Port of Newcastle, the airport expansion, and the Hunter Park sport and entertainment precinct at Broadmeadow, as well as fast rail, light rail extensions, and other transport options to meet the new demand.
