A young apprentice who fell six metres from a roof at Mayfield West earlier this month has lost his fight for life in hospital.
Fairfax reports Brayden Asser was working at a recycling facility in the Steel River Industrial Estate on March 8 when he stepped through a hole in the roof and crashed onto a steel beam below.
The 20-year-old was taken to the John Hunter Hospital with horrific head injuries but died on Saturday.
His devastated family have paid tribute to Brayden, saying he was a mad bodyboarder who loved working as an apprentice roof plumber.
