A fire has been extinguished at the Henny Penny fast food restaurant in Wallsend this morning.
Staff at the Cowper Street restaurant were evacuated before 10am this morning, as the blaze spread to the roof after reportedly being sparked by a deep fryer.
Six fire crews attended the scene and the blaze was extinguished a short time later.
Investigations into the fire continue, however it's not believed to be suspicious.
