Caravan Destroyed By Fire At Georgetown

 BY IAN CROUCH

A caravan has been destroyed in an overnight fire at Georgetown.

Firefighters from Lambton were called to Georgetown Road just after 9.00pm on Sunday to find the small caravan engulfed in flames.

It took them around 40 minutes to extinguish the fire.

Newcastle Fire Command says a male squatter was not at the scene when firefighters arrived.

Although the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, Police say it is not being treated as suspicious.
