Police are searching for at least two teenagers following a home invasion and the theft of two cars at Wallsend earl Monday morning.
Police say the teens broke into a home on Birchgrove Drive at about 2.45am and stole the keys to a gold Nissan Tida and a grey Toyota Aurion.
A male resident disturbed the teens but they managed to flee and steal the cars.
The Toyota was later found burnt out at Thornton.
No-one was injured during the incident.
