Caravan Destroyed By Fire At Georgetown

A caravan has been destroyed in an overnight fire at Georgetown.

Firefighters from Lambton were called to Georgetown Road just after 9.00pm on Sunday to find the small caravan engulfed in flames.

It took them around 40 minutes to extinguish the fire.

Newcastle Fire Command says a male squatter was not at the scene when firefighters arrived.

Although the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, Police say it is not being treated as suspicious.

BREAKING! Firefighters Called To Popular Holiday Village At Port Stephens

Fire has destroyed a caravan at a popular holiday village at Port Stephens early this morning (Wednesday 12 May 2021).

Fire and Rescue and RFS crews were called to the Island Leisure Village at Fenninghams Island near Bobs Farm just after 2.00am to find a 15 X 8 metre van under an awning well alight.

They took just over an hour to extinguish the flames - vans either side were affected by heat and smoke.

Crews also protected two gas cylinders at risk from the flames.

There were no occupants in the van when the fire broke out and no-one was injured.

Police say it's likely the fire was caused by an electrical fault.

Man Overcome By Smoke While Fighting Caravan Fire At South Maitland

A 40-year-old man has been treated for smoke inhalation after a caravan went up in flames at South Maitland.

Fire crews from Maitland and East Maitland were called to Anzac Street just before 7.00pm on Tuesday, arriving to find the caravan and annexe well alight.

It's taken them about an hour to douse the flames.

No-one was inside the caravan - Newcastle Fire Command say a man was overcome by smoke while trying to fight the fire before crews arrived.

Police Investigate Suspicious Fire At Anna Bay Caravan Park

Police say a fire which damaged the exterior of a caravan at an Anna Bay caravan park this morning was deliberately lit.

A NSW fire crew from Nelson Bay and the RFS were called to the Emerald Tiki Village on Nelson Bay Road just after 2.30am.

It's believed someone lit a fire next to an unoccupied caravan - crews were quickly on scene and extinguished the blaze before it could take hold.

Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage in a bid to identify the culprit.

Caravan Explodes In Suspicious Fire At Windale

Police are investigating a fire which destroyed a caravan and damaged two cars at Windale.

4 fire trucks from Tingira Heights and Charlestown were called to reports of explosions in James Street at about 2.45am on Wednesday to find the 15 year-old caravan up in flames.

Newcastle Fire Command says an LPG cylinder attached to the caravan exploded during the blaze.

Two cars parked nearby also suffered heat damage.

It's taken crews around an hour to extinguish and mop up the fire.

Two Caravans Destroyed In Wallsend Shed Fire

Police are investigating the cause of a fire which destroyed a large shed and two caravans at Wallsend.

Eight fire trucks and 30 firefighters were called to Downie Lane at about 10.15pm on Wednesday to find the shed engulfed in flames.

Several LPG cylinders were also inside the shed.

Police say a couple were using one of the caravans as temporary accommodation were not inside at the time.

It took fire crews about half an hour to extinguish the blaze.

Caravan Destroyed By Fire At Cardiff

Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire which guttered a caravan at Cardiff overnight.

Newcastle Fire Command received almost a dozen calls to Byron Street at about 1.30am on Monday, with crews from Cardiff and Charlestown arriving to find the unoccupied caravan up in flames.

It's taken about 20 minutes to extinguish using a special compressed air foam system.

Fire Destoys Home-Made Caravan at Mirrabooka

Fire has destroyed a home-made caravan at Mirrabooka in Southern Lake Macquarie.

Fire crews were called to a home on Hillcrest Avenue just before 10.00pm on Sunday to find the caravan, which was parked in the driveway, engulfed in flames.

Two people inside the adjacent house were trapped due to the fire and were released by firefighters unharmed.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated.

Man Dies In Caravan Fire Near Port Stephens

A report is being prepared for the Coroner after a man died in a caravan fire north of Port Stephens.

Firefighters were called to a property on Booral Road at Girvan, about 20 kilometres southwest of Stroud around 7.00pm on Thursday to reports of a caravan on fire.

They quickly extinguished the blaze, however the body of a man was found inside - he is yet to be formally identified.

Police have set up a crime scene as investigations into the cause of the fire continue, but it's not thought to be suspicious.
