A wanted man is due to face court today following a police pursuit at Belmont South overnight.
Officers noticed the man driving a Holden Commodore on the Pacific Highway just after 12.30am on Wednesday but he refused to stop.
They lost sight of the car after a short pursuit and a police dog tracked the 21-year-old to a nearby address.
He was arrested and has been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today charged with domestic violence and police pursuit offenses.
