A Raymond Terrace man is facing court over the alleged sexual abuse of an eight-year-old girl.
Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad began investigating the 60-year-old man after reports a young girl known to him was sexually abused.
At about 4pm he was arrested by detectives at a home in Raymond Terrace. He was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and charged with several offences including three counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10 years, and intentionally sexually touch child under 10 years.
Police will allege the man sexually abused the girl numerous times at a home in Raymond Terrace between 2019 and 2020.
The man's been refused bail to face Raymond Terrace Local Court today.
Police say investigations are continuing.
