A former Hunter man is expected to face Southport Magistrates Court today where police will apply for his extradition over alleged historical sexual assault and violence offences against three Hunter women.

Detectives from Strike Force Arapaima arrested the 58-year-old in Surfers Paradise yesterday afternoon.

They've been reviewing the investigation into the disappearance and suspected murders of Robyn Hickie, Amanda Robinson and Gordana Kotevski decades ago.

Although the 58-year-old is believed to be a person of interest in these cases, his arrest relates to other alleged offences.
