Two Men Arrested Following Public Place Shooting in Cessnock

Two men will face court today following an investigation into a public place shooting in Cessnock earlier this week.
Around 3am on Wednesday the 29th of January, police were called to Mills Crescent, following reports of shots fired.
Following inquires, Hunter Valley Police stopped a Holden Commodore sedan with four men exiting the vehicle, two allegedly fleeing the scene by foot.
The two remaining men were arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station but were released later that day, pending further inquiries.
The two other men, aged 27-year-old and 21-years-old were later arrested and refused bail to face Cessnock Local Court today.
Both men were charged with fire firearm at dwelling with disregard for safety, fire firearm in a manner likely to injure persons/property, possess loaded firearm in a public place and destroy/damage property.
