Convicted sexual predator, Brett Hill is set to challenge the severity of his gaol sentence.
The 49-year-old was sentenced in December to a minimum of 17 years behind bars for the repeated rape of an 11-year-old girl over 5 hours at Adamstown Heights in June 2018.
It means Hill is not due for release until at least June 2035 when he'll be 64 years old.
Fairfax reports 6 days after his sentence was handed down, Hill's lawyers filed a notice of intention to appeal.
His lawyers have six months to file the actual appeal and will then need to prove the sentence handed to Hill was manifestly excessive.
