Police expect to lay charges over a crash at Hamilton North which has left a man nursing a broken arm.
A 19-year-old woman was driving a Ford Festiva along Chin Chen Street at Islington at about 9.15pm on Monday when it's alleged she failed to stop for a random breath test.
Police say the car continued at speed along a number of back streets before it mounted the kerb at the intersection of Boreas Street and Chatham Road and collided with a tree.
A male passenger was taken to the John Hunter Hospital where he's undergone surgery for a fractured arm.
Police say the woman returned a low range blood alcohol reading - she's expected to be charged with several traffic offenses.
