UPDATE:
A post mortem will be conducted on the body of a man found in the back seat of a car in Lambton this morning.
Patrolling officers made the discovery at 3am when they pulled over the car and a 52-year-old driver on Griffiths Road because he was allegedly driving erratically.
He was arrested and taken to Waratah Police Station and is facing court this afternoon on driving offences.
The body of a 52-year-old will also be examined to determine a cause of death - police suspect he may have died of a drug overdose.
An overdose is expected to be a strong line of inquiry, and Detective Acting Inspector Scott Wheeler says they'll know more tomorrow.
"There will be a post mortem conducted on the body most likely tomorrow so we'll know more about it at that stage."
The silver Toyota sedan is also being forensically examined.
A crime scene was established on Griffiths Road which was shut for most of the morning but is now reopen.
