BY IAN CROUCH

The teenage boy who tragically died after suffering a medical episode at Lambton Pool on Tuesday is being remembered as a fun loving soul with a big heart.

It's now been revealed 17-year-old Pono Aperahama was in a motorbike accident 4 years ago which left him with terrible head injuries.

For some reason, he lashed out at himself and others who tried to help him on Tuesday afternoon before suffering a heart attack.

His mother, Terina Anderson is traveling from New Zealand to Sydney to organise her son's funeral.

Susan Clark witnessed the tragedy unfold.

"I'm still in a state of shock watching them working on that poor child. It's heartbreaking," she told reporters.

The results of a police investigation is expected to take several more days.
