An unusual find has been made along Nobby's Beach in Newcastle.
Two months ago, a plastic urn washed up and was found near the lighthouse.
The only details Newcastle Police have been able to declare with certainty is the name of the deceased, Frank Brown and the number, 34425.
This week, police put out a call out to the public for help in trying to reunite the urn with his family.
Enquiry attempts with funeral homes and crematoriums across the Hunter region have so far proved unsuccessful.
"We would like to unite Frank with his family/friends as that would be preferable to him sitting on a shelf in a police property room." Police said.
