Two people have now been charged over the fatal stabbing of a 56-year-old man at Broadmeadow.
Christopher Ward suffered a critical stab wound to his stomach around 8.20pm on Sunday March 7 near the Nineways and staggered into a nearby home for help.
He died two days later in the John Hunter Hospital.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 46-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman at Honeysuckle yesterday afternoon.
The man's been charged with murder and the woman with being an accessory after the fact to murder.
They've been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today (Wednesday 17 march, 2021).
Police say the alleged victim and the accused are known to each other.
