Woman To Face Newcastle Court Over Alleged Child Abduction

The woman at the centre of an alleged abduction of a child from the Riverina district has now been charged by Lake Macquarie police.

Police say a 12-year-old boy was last seen leaving a school in Culcairn at about midday on Tuesday.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued and the boy was found safe and well at Lake Macquarie at about 10.00pm of Wednesday.

A 36-year-old was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station where she was charged with take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage.

She's been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today (Thursday 11 March, 2021).

The 12-year-old boy who was abducted from Culcairn on Tuesday 9 March 2021 has been safely located safe and well about 10.00pm on Wednesday 10 March 2021, in Lake Macquarie.

NSW Police have issued an amber alert, and are seeking urgent public assistance to help locate a 12-year-old boy who was abducted from the Riverina region on Tuesday. 

12-year-old Dasean Kroon was last seen leaving his school in Culcairn about midday, located around 30 minutes North of Albury.
The boy is believed to be in the company of 36-year-old woman, Tracy Rush, who is known to frequent the Wagga Wagga area and has links to Charlestown in Newcastle. The boy is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 150cm tall, with brown shaggy hair, and wearing a yellow button school uniform with navy shorts and sneakers. He has a birth mark on his right ear. The woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 160cm tall, 36 years of age, of medium build, with black hair. Police are asking the public to be on alert and report any sightings of the boy or woman. Ring Triple Zero (000) to provide any information about this abduction.
