A vehicle plowed into a shop in Cessnock on Wednesday morning, trapping the driver inside.
Fire and Rescue crews arrived at the store on Darwin Street, just before 10 o'clock.
As a
result of the crash the structural integrity of the shop had been severely
impacted.
Firefighters are currently working with specialist engineers to render the
building safe.
The driver of the vehicle has been safely extricated from the car and is
being treated on scene by NSW Ambulance.
Residents are advised to avoid the area while operations are ongoing.
