Digital Library Opens In Newcastle

A new digital library opens today (Monday 7 September, 2020) on the ground floor of Newcastle Council's Administration Centre in Stewart Avenue.

The library offers a range of state-of-the-art digital technologies including a podcasting studio, an industrial 3D printer, and a programmable robot called Pepper.

While a Magic Box, said to be only the second of its type in the world, provides a hands-free way of reading more than 400,000 items in the city's heritage collections.

Up to 10 copies of the latest and most popular books, CDs and DVDs are available along with more than 6-thousand digitised copies of newspapers and magazines from 123 countries.
