$10 Million Integrated Health Centre Opens it's Doors in Cardiff South

 BY SAMUEL BARTLETT

A new integrated health centre will be opening it's doors in Cardiff South on Thursday,  after 10 years in the making.

The $10 million dollar, Atune Health, centre is located on the corner of Ada Street and Macquarie Road, and brings over 80 health and medical professionals under the one roof of what used to be the Cardiff Squash Centre.

"The renovated building is being labelled an Australian first for its integrated style containing various practitioners and specialists all part of the one team," Atune Health CEO Simon Ashley says.

"The centre is a one stop health centre. We're bringing all the different modalities, we've got medical specialists, general practitioners, allied health and complementary services all working together in the one space."

An acute herbal dispensary will even be located in the medical waiting room.

Construction saw 27 trades working on-site over the past 12 months.

“ATUNE is really about a dream coming true. When I was 19 I was in hospital for a couple of months with a serious condition and I saw that there were a few deficiencies around integration and individualized care."

"About 14 years ago I established an osteopathy room in my home at Eleebana and within a couple of years, I had met and involved a number of other health and medical professionals who also believed in the advantages for the community."

Eight squash courts and squash club facilities have been retained, as well as a Pilates and yoga studio that have been refurbished.

A 25 metre indoor hydro pool will be refurbished along with a sauna and spa facility for rehabilitation regimes.

"People don't have to go all over town to get continuity of care, they can just come to the one place and they can have all the different things they require all done together."

"Our team all work together. We don't just have different individual businesses doing their own thing. Most of the big super-centres that you see basically put whoever they can into that space."

"We've really changed that model where all the people who work at Atune actually work together. The whole business is oriented around integration so we work with the clients as a whole team."
