Three Hunter Venues are thanking healthcare workers, by offering a 50 percent discount on food throughout the whole month of September.
The initiative launched on Monday, with the offer available at the Lemon Grove Hotel, the Maryland Tavern and The Delany Hotel to staff who show their Health Workers ID card.
Lemon Grove Hotel owner Wayne Stewart, says the discount is a way to say thank you to healthcare workers for their tireless efforts in saving the lives of Australian's.
"It's a way to say thank you for everything that health care workers have done so we can open the doors, and not just our hotel, but all the others around the region. We're very fortunate," Wayne Stewart said.
"It's small thing we can do; a tiny bit of thanks. It's a half price of a meal that might make somebody smile and, in that case, we've done our job," Wayne Stewart said.
Wayne Stewart is challenging other pub, club, and restaurant owners to also offer a discount to healthcare employees.
"If everyone can jump on board here it'd be a really good way combining as a fantastic town to say thank you to these people, " Mr Stewart said.
