Lake Macquarie police are searching for a man who held up a fast food restaurant at Belmont.
The man walked into the McDonalds outlet on the Pacific Highway just after 10.30pm on Sunday and threatened a worker with knife while demanding cash.
He was handed a small sum of money from the cash til before running off.
No-one was injured and police are checking CCTV footage in a bid to identify the suspect.
