Coronavirus has hit the Hunter, with a man in his 70's exhibiting symptoms after returning from Italy.
Hunter New England Health says its providing care and support to the man including daily wellness checks while he is in isolation at home.
He's reported to be doing well.
Close contacts of the man have been contacted and asked to self-isolate.
They are being contacted every day by the public health unit to check they are well and will be tested if they develop symptoms of COVID-19.
