A man is due to face court accused of threatening to blow up a car at Edgeworth.
Police and emergency services were called to Main Road at about 6.30pm on Wednedsay where a 48-year-old man had allegedly released gas from an LPG bottle into the back of the vehicle and was threatening to set it alight with a cigarette lighter.
Main Road was closed while police negotiated with the man who surrendered without incident after about 30 minutes.
Police say the incident related to a dispute over unpaid rent.
The man has been charged with possessing explosives with intent and will undergo a mental health assessment before facing Toronto Local Court today.
