A woman is due to face court today accused of stabbing her former partner during a domestic dispute at Cliftleigh.
Police were called to a home in Colombard Street at about 9.30pm on Tuesday to find a 30-year-old man had collapsed in the front yard with a stab wound to his chest.
He was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition and is undergoing surgery.
A 30-year-old woman has been arrested.
Police allege she inflicted the wound with a kitchen knife.
She's been charged with reckless wounding and has been refused bail to face Maitland Local Court today (Wednesday 22 November, 2017).
