A man and woman are due to front court today after a pursuit in an allegedly stolen car from the Newcastle to Lake Macquarie.
Police say a Suzuki Vitara was stolen from a Mayfield address yesterday afternoon and spotted by patrolling police on Steel Street at Hamilton at about 7.15 last night.
They gave chase when the driver refused to stop, with the car eventually crashing into a tree on Macquarie Road at Cardiff.
A 22-year-old woman who was driving the car was arrested along with her 43-year-old male passenger.
They've been refused bail to face Belmont Court on Friday charged with vehicle theft and driving offenses including Police Pursuit not stop.
