A man has had a lucky escape from injury after crashing his car at Birmingham Gardens overnight.
Emergency services were called to reports of a person trapped in a crashed car on Wilkinson Avenue at about 10.45pm on Wednesday.
They arrived to find a silver Honda Jazz on it's side and the driver out of the vehicle.
Police say the 51-year-old lost control, with the car crashing into a parked vehicle.
He allegedly failed a roadside breath test and later returned a reading of 0.090.
The man's been handed a court attendance notice and will face Newcastle Court on May 18 charged with mid-range drink driving.
