A man's expected to be charged today, after leading Hunter police on a pursuit overnight.
Police allege they spotted a stolen motorbike on South Street at Windale at about 6:45pm, and followed it to the Homemaker Centre at Bennetts Green where they initiated a pursuit.
After it was deemed too unsafe to continue the chase along the Pacific Highway, Pol-Air was called in to follow the bike.
The rider attempted to turn at the intersection of Kirkdale Drive and Charlestown Road, but lost control and crashed.
He fled the scene but was apprehended and arrested a short time later after a foot pursuit.
He did not have any serious injuries but was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he remained overnight.
He'll be released and charged today.
