Two juveniles are expected to front the Children's Court on Monday over an alleged violent home invasion and police pursuit in Newcastle.
Police believe as many as 6 people forced their way into a home on Barton Street at Mayfield around 11.30pm on Sunday and assaulted the occupant before stealing a red Toyota Camry.
Officers pursued the car on several occasions between Newcastle, Maitland and Fern Bay at speeds of up to 140 km/hr.
The car was eventually stopped near Fowler Street at Hamilton South where a boy and girl were arrested.
The search continues for others involved in the incident.
