More DOCS Caseworkers For Hunter?

BY IAN CROUCH

It's hoped some of the dozens of child protection caseworkers being promised in the state budget will come to the Hunter.

Funding is being announced for about 100 frontline workers and support staff as part of a $59 million investment over 4 years.

Despite the employment of 42 new caseworkers in June last year, Labor claimed 12,000 children across the region were still missing out on face-to-face assessments.

Family and Community Services Minister, Pru Goward says they're making plans for children who are at significant risk of harm in the home.
