Wheels For Hope Program

BY GABRIEL PARKER

Wheels For Hope; a practical hands on mentoring program that specialises in helping young and at risk young people in the Raymond Terrace area realise their potential and will refurbish recycled bikes and skateboards to give to disadvantaged families.

With the success of the program in Windale for the last two years, The Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation has donated 50 thousand dollars to now deliver the program to Kurri Kurri and Raymond Terrace.

The Chairman of the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Programs Michael Slater says the aim of this program is to engage, support and mentor young people in order to provide better long term outcomes for themselves and the community.
