BY IAN CROUCH

Defence Minsiter Marise Payne will finally meet with residents affected by the Williamtown RAAF Base contamination crisis this afternoon.

Assistant Defence Minister Michael McCormack and Liberal candidate for Paterson, Karen Howard will also be on hand for the meeting..

It comes after the Coalition pledged $55 million to deal with contamination from fire fighting chemicals at defence facilities across Australia.

Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull has also hinted the government would consider voluntary buyback of properties in the contamination red zone which have now been rendered worthless.
