To assist with staff shortages in the Hunter, the state government is giving the region 12 additional Paramedics and has set up a temporary ambulance site at Sandgate while the new station at Gateshead remains under construction.
The Paramedics Union has been critical of these changes saying they aren't as effective as promised and complaining about a lack of information.
Minister for the Hunter and Swansea MP Yasmin Catley says this new push from the Government includes new stations being built in the Hunter.
However the Union says it's not clear when these new stations will be built.
