Residents of a home on Sandgate Road in Shortland have narrowly escaped injury after a break and enter into their home.
About 3am this morning (Thursday, 9 January), police were called as three people used a baton to damage the home and two vehicles parked outside.
At the scene, officers were told the people confronted the residents and demanded cash.
The offenders fled the scene and are yet to be found.
Anyone with further information is being asked to contact crime stoppers.
