Parts of Muswellbrook and surrounding districts have been shaken by a small earthquake overnight.
The tremor struck at about 9.40pm on Sunday with a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale.
Geoscience Australia says the epicentre was about 10 kilometres south of Muswellbrook to a depth of 10 kilometres.
175 people reported feeling the quake, with many posting on Facebook saying it shook their home.
