Man Leaps Into Pool In A Bid To Avoid Arrest

BY IAN CROUCH

A man has jumped into a pool and landed himself in police custody while fleeing an armed robbery at Adamstown.

The 26-year-old is accused of threatening two teenage boys with a hook when he forced his way into a home on Lexington Parade last night.

When one of the boys raised the alarm, he ran across a number of rooftops and jumped into a pool where he was arrested.

He's been refused bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court today charged with aggravated enter dwelling armed with intent, assault, carrying a cutting implement, drug possession, larceny and trespassing.
