Man Charged Over Hit and Run Murder in the Hunter Two Years Ago

A Singleton man has been charged with murder, following the suspicious death of 43-year-old New Zealand fire fighter, Ian Pullen, two years ago in the Hunter. 

29-year-old Joshua Knight, has been charged with murder, dangerous driving occasioning death and failing to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death.

Just after 5.30am on September 29 2018, emergency services were called to Carrington Street, Glenridding, after Ian Pullen's lifeless body was located on the side of the road.

Mr Pullen was in the Hunter helping to prepare the region for bushfire season 

Detectives from Hunter Valley Police District established Strike Force Awabakil to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr Pullen’s death.

Following extensive inquiries and numerous public appeals, Joshua Knight was arrested at Newcastle Police Station around 10am on Wednesday. 

He briefly faced Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday where he did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.

Investigations under Strike Force Awabakil are ongoing.
