Newcastle Man Diagnosed with Covid-19 After Testing Negative In Hotel Quarantine

A man in Newcastle has tested positive to Covid-19, one of  7 new cases diagnosed in NSW between 8pm on 5 July and 8pm on 6 July.

NSW Health confirmed the man is a recently returned traveller who tested negative on day 10 of quarantine, but developed symptoms on his return home to Newcastle on Sunday, after being released from hotel quarantine. 

He and his close contacts are in isolation.

The other six of today’s new cases are returned travelers in hotel quarantine.
