Man Charged, Allegedly Assaulting Woman in the Upper Hunter

A Scone man will appear in court, after allegedly assaulting a woman at a home in the Upper Hunter on Thursday.

About 5.30pm, emergency services were called to a home on Macqueen Street, Aberdeen, after reports of a domestic-related assault.

It’s alleged a 26-year-old man attended the home before damaging the front door and assaulting the 42-year-old woman.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for facial injuries before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

The man,  known to the woman, was arrested nearby and taken to Muswellbrook Hospital for treatment of superficial lacerations.

Upon his release from hospital, the man was taken to Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (DV), destroy or damage property (DV), and assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV).

The Scone man was refused bail to appear at Muswellbrook Local Court on Friday.
